This judgment contains important principles relating to the crimes of treason and misprision of treason, the burden of proof in murder cases based on circumstantial evidence, hearsay evidence, alibi evidence, accomplice evidence, co-accused evidence, tape-recording evidence and whether or not misdirections by the trial judge to the jury in a very lengthy summing up amounted to a miscarriage of justice or bias.
