The slightest amount of possession was sufficient to maintain claim for trespass. Supreme Court of Sierra Leone, 31 December 1984
In this case, a deed of gift was insufficent to prove ownership of land, but undertaking a survey of the land and warning the defendant off the land were sufficient to show prior posession and ground a claim of trespass. Granting an injunction against further trespass was inapproprpriate due to the plaintiff’s delay in taking action. Reported by Caroline Sesay
