An application for originating notice of motion to Supreme Court failed to follow the correct procedure. Supreme Court of Sierra Leone, 20 January 2000
The applicant, the Minister for Agriculture and the Environment, who had been indicted on corruption related charges, applied to the Supreme Court for orders of certiorari and prohibition relating to proceedings in the High Court. This case highlights the importance of following the procedures set out in the Constitution and the Supreme Court Rules when seeking to invoke the original jurisdiction of the Supreme Court.
